4th of July

This 4th of July weekend we were treated to a visit from Kristen's cousin Bruce and his family. The weekend was a whirlwind of activity. Friday night we watched the local fireworks show. Saturday we took a trip to the Monterrey Bay aquarium, our lunch featured a great view of some sea lions sunning themselves on a rock outside our window. Sunday, we rode the train to San Francisco, strolled along the waterfront and enjoyed a nice lunch in the sunny garden at one of our new favorite restaurants. After saying goodbye to Bruce and family we strolled back towards the train station. Taking a detour around Giants Stadium we discovered that the ball park is open for kids on non-game days and that there is both a slide inside the gigantic Coke bottle, and a min-sized stadium for kids to play ball behind the outfield. Nathaniel showed himself to be quite a slugger, I'm sure he can't wait until he's old enough for t-ball.
