Illinois Visit

We went to Illinois to visit the Husky clan. Lillian needed to catch up with everyone since she hadn't seen them since last fall. She's grown up a lot, and has a lot of new tricks to show off. For example, walking across the room and knocking over Grandma's tower of empty bottles. Now that we're back in California, Eric has begun his Masterpiece Theater tune whistling detox.

Cousin Raquel has a really cool playhouse, that's just the perfect size for Lillian. You can probably hear in the background that her cousin Lucas is a big fan of the "Eminemineminems."

Grandma and grandpa have a sandbox in the backyard, which is always a hit.

And of course no family gathering would be complete without the big group shot. You don't want to know how many takes it took to get everyone looking at the camera.

Hot days!

We have had a stretch of very hot days here in California. So we've been doing a lot of playing inside. I captured this cute video of Lillian toddling around last Wednesday.

By the end of the week we were looking for ways to get out of the house and enjoy some air conditioning. So one day we went to Ikea to eat Swedish meatballs. Lillian also had fun toddling around the showroom checking out all the spiffy Swedish furniture. Another day we went to the mall with some of our buddies. Yesterday we were invited to go swimming in a friend's pool. The pool was great fun, Lillian loves the water.

We're getting ready to go on vacation to visit Eric's family in Illinois next week. We're really looking forward to having someone else around to help chase Lillian. She's tons of fun, but we could use a bit of a rest!

Picnic in the Park

A few weeks ago we were invited to join some friends for a Bar-B-Q in the park. Lillian had fun toddling around in the grass and watching the kites flying. It was a cool and foggy spring day so we all had to bundle up for warmth.

Lillian's little buddy Savith, sitting in the grass.

Here is the whole family enjoying the warm sunshine.

Birthdays, happy and otherwise

Today was daddy's 30th birthday. Lillian decided to give her first present right at the beginning by letting everyone sleep in an extra hour and pooping on her potty. That's an exciting way to start the day. The rest of the day was going really well, until she fell down at the park running around too fast. She ended up with a bloody scrape on her nose.

She recovered and was happy again while we all went to a nice dinner at Xanh.

After taking these pictures for the blog, she fell backward off her rocking chair. So it's been quite the roller coaster for this baby. At least daddy had a pretty good birthday...
