April was a very busy month. First we had the science fair, where the kids got to show off their home grown crystals (they're still planning to eat the rock candy at some point). Next Kristen and the kids flew to Phoenix for spring break, where Nathaniel decided he was a puppy for a while, and they all climbed a mountain. Lillian had her 11th birthday, where we made her an awesome cake full of marzipan wildflowers. She also got her first block of modelling clay, and proceeded to branch into a new artistic medium. Eric attended a conference in Minneapolis, where it was snowy, and full of wild turkeys and the world's biggest shopping mall. Kristen organized our school's group in the annual Mountain View Family Parade. Nathaniel got to visit Eric's workplace for Bring Your Kid to Work Day (but we couldn't get him to pose for a photo with the flying pig mascot!). And we moved into May with Eric's birthday.

It has been a long time since we updated this blog. We're still here, we just haven't been blogging much due to getting busy with a home remodel and Google killing Picasa (our main method of creating these updates). We're slowly figuring out how to proceed in this new technology era. For those of you who have been impatiently awaiting an update, here are our some vacation photos from New York last summer!

We haven't been keeping up with the blog lately. One of the main reasons why is that we've been doing some remodeling at the house. We had our cedar tree removed from our driveway as it was way too big for its spot. Following that we had to have the driveway jackhammered up and replaced. While we were at it we also took a couple tons of concrete off the back patio. We also removed the old brick path around the side of the house and put in a new concrete block path. To try to make up for the lost shade over the driveway we had a pergola built over the driveway. I don't have pictures of the finished product, but we do have some sweet shots of our new swing pedestals from the logs.
