Birthday Party

Today we had a little party to celebrate Lillian's first birthday. Eric made some amazing cupcakes with chocolate ganache frosting and fresh strawberries. As you can see, we did a variety setup so people could choose how which toppings they wanted. We're trying to keep Lillian from being a full blown chocoholic for now, so we gave her a plain cupcake after the candle was blown out.

Here is Lillian getting ready to blow out the candle on her cupcakes, with some help from Mom and Dad. She was a little cranky today and had an "It's my party and I'll cry if I want to" moment when it was time for the happy birthday song.

Lillian had a great time playing with her buddies. As you can see, hosting a birthday party inspired a rare moment of sharing with her friend Samuel. Usually she's stealing food from her friends, not giving it away.
